Advance Farming Techniques Training on "Irrigation" and "Crop load management for apple orchards" were conducted in Guba


The first Advance Farming Techniques trainings on apple production within the framework Azerbaijan Agricultural Finance Facility – AZAFF has been conducted in Guba


The first Advance Farming Techniques trainings on apple production within the framework Azerbaijan Agricultural Finance Facility – AZAFF has been conducted in Guba. The seminar has been organized in cooperation with the Guba Farmer house in Guba on May 12, 2016. AZAFF International Agronomist Mr. Fabien Martel and Senior Agriculture Expert Mr. Fagan Aghayev have been appointed as trainers. Training have started at 9.30 a.m. and 20 farmers from the region and surrounding areas participated in the training. Participants were requested to fill diagnostic sheets and answer some specific questions about their farms, which will be used while diagnosing those farms in the future.

AZAFF team paid special attention to design advance farming techniques training on practical issues and keep it as simple as possible. Two main seasonal subjects have been selected for this session:

-Irrigation & water management;

-Crop load management for apple orchards.

At the end of indoor training, farmers received materials that summarize the training content. Indoor part of training was completed at around 13.30 on 12 May and all participants were invited to attend the field training in a 50 ha modern high density orchards planted 2012. During the field training, farmers gained practical knowledge on training subjects.
